Apolloni Pinot Noir
(Willamette Valley, Oregon)
If you know anything about Pinot Noir, its a very temperamental grape that is not easy to grow. When you get a winner, its truly a winner. This is definitely one, and a new favorite. It is very light, very drinkable, smooth and almost like a very dark rose. It has notes of light cherry, and a pleasant dry but bitter finish, you can tell it was aged in barrels. At $15 per bottle (on sale, it normally lists for $25), it is something I stocked up on as it is now a clear favorite. While most might not have any leftover, if you do, you will notice it has a higher acidic level the next day if you have an unfinished bottle.
